Welcome to Lit Up
The Land of Little Tales.
Our world is one of imagination and wonder, of people and ideas and emotion, where up can be down and in can be out and what you believed was untrue might all become real.
Within these pages, you’ll find a carefully curated selection of short fiction and poetry, chosen for the quality of the writing and wealth of experience. Our writers delight with their originality, their style and their ability to immerse the reader in different worlds, even those that bear remarkable resemblance to this one.
Our focus is not upon genre but on transportation and transformation of the mundane into the extraordinary. Stories are chosen for the illumination they bring to being human, exploring emotion and the driving forces that push us further, deeper, that sometimes divide and more often connect us, revealing that differences can most often be the very thing that draws us together.
Love and hate, fear and anger, joy and laughter, doubt and soul-deep grief, fiction allows us to feel, respond, understand, and gives us strength and hope and the courage to make our way through life’s tangled thickets. Let your mind roam and your heart soar through the piercing language and rhythm of poetry, those moments when we know for certain we are not making this journey alone.
So dive in, for entertainment, for solace, to feel another’s joys or their pain, our goal is to offer an ever-growing collection of superb stories written by writers of excellence to take you out of your day for a few moments and return you changed, even if only in the smallest of ways.
